Arc Environmental provided visual assessments for identified structures at 19 BIA facilities in seven states in support of task order requirements to perform comprehensive facility condition assessments. Arc’s scope of work included the identification, assessment, and reporting of identified environmental conditions such as asbestos-containing materials, lead-based paint, moisture intrusion, suspect microbial growth, and other indoor contaminant considerations that may require abatement or mitigation in order to ensure safe, healthy building conditions. Assessed facilities included:
- Aneth Community School
- Cottonwood Day School
- Little Wound Day School
- Tse ii Ahi (Standing Rock) Community School
- Pierre Indian Learning Center
- Santa Rosa Day School
- Wa He Lut Indian School
- Theodore Roosevelt School
- Turtle Mountain Elementary School
- Te Su Geh Oweengge Day School
- Shonto Prep
- Many Farms
- Wounded Knee
- Pine Hills
Arc reviewed available records and drawings prior to mobilizing to each site. Upon arrival at each facility, Arc’s field team, which included staff members cross-trained in disciplines specific to the scope of work requirements, performed walk-down assessments of each building and inventoried suspect ACMs, damaged paint films, moisture/microbial conditions, and other observed conditions of concern.
As part of the A/E team’s deliverables, Arc provided a summary of all observed conditions, associated cost estimates for environmental concerns requiring remediation, and photo documentation of observed conditions. The completed assessments were performed in preparation of follow-on Design-Build construction and renovation projects.
